The Stronger Together theme of this year’s brunch beautifully captured the essence of unity and collaboration, emphasizing that the challenges we face as individuals can often be overcome more effectively when we come together. In a world where collaboration is more vital than ever, this event highlighted the incredible achievements of women leaders across various spheres of public service. The brunch served as a powerful reminder of the collective impact that women, in all roles and capacities, bring to their communities and beyond.



This year’s brunch featured Lisa Gilbert as the guest speaker, whose presence added an inspiring dimension to the gathering. Her insights complemented the event’s celebration of perseverance, innovation, and the shared commitment to creating positive change.

The event celebrated the strength found in diversity, bringing together women from different backgrounds and fields to share insights and inspiration. Centered around the theme “You’re The One,” Brunch on Purpose emphasized the power each individual holds to create lasting change and break generational cycles. It showcased the potential everyone has to inspire transformative change, encouraging attendees to continue making a positive impact within their families and communities.

ROPES

The Born on Purpose Project team acknowledges the invaluable contributions of retired professionals. With their extensive experience and expertise, we consider them the ideal group for potential mentor/mentee relationships. Recognizing the demand from organizations that depend on mentors for success, the ROPES initiative was established. This program provides retired professionals with the opportunity to continue fulfilling their purpose and community impact through mentorship. Mentors complete a comprehensive curriculum focused on best practices, youth development strategies, and practical experience, ensuring each mentor is adequately prepared to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of at-promise youth, adolescents, and young adults. Once matched, ROPES mentors provide essential tools for success, fostering resilience, positive decision-making, and personal growth, inspiring a new generation of leaders.

POD FRIENDS

Pod Friends is an innovative new creative skill-building initiative by Born On Purpose, designed to empower transition-aged youth (18 to 23) in Broward County on the cusp of aging out of the foster care system. Using a Positive Youth Development approach, this program leverages podcasting to breed resilience among its participants by increasing individual, peer, and community protective factors, equipping young people with the tools and support necessary to navigate the challenges of transition into adulthood and deter delinquency. By providing a nurturing environment and relevant instruction, Pod Friends aims to transform the trajectory of participants' lives, boosting self-reliance, interpersonal skills, and a sense of belonging within their communities. With an emphasis on creative expression and skill-building, the program facilitates a supportive network of peers, mentors, and resources, empowering these individuals to thrive beyond the constraints of their past experiences. The program will implement two 8-week seasons a year, Fall and Spring, and expects to serve ten youth per season (twenty youth per year).

BOP CERTIFIED

Born on Purpose Certified is a youth employability program dedicated to fostering connections with employers to create valuable opportunities for at-promise youth aged 16+. Each young person receives hands-on guidance from Retired On Purpose Extending Services (ROPES) program mentors, who emphasize responsibility, reliability, and character development while exposing participants to new career options. These young candidates are supported through every phase of the employment process, adding trust and assurance for our community employment partners and creating a confident, reliable workforce ready to excel in their roles.
